- Ingredients: Nuts of your choice (such as almonds or cashews), water, and optional sweeteners or flavorings. My personal favorites are almonds & pistachios with vanilla bean.

- Tools: Either a nutmilk maker or a blender and a cheesecloth or nut milk bag for straining.


Steps:

1. If you are using the blender method, then soak the nuts overnight in water to soften them. If using a nut milk maker, you do not need to soak the nuts.

2. Drain and rinse the nuts.

3. Blend the nuts with fresh water (typically, a 1:4 ratio of nuts to water) until smooth.

4. Strain the mixture through a cheesecloth or nut milk bag to remove the pulp.

5. I then will add my vanilla bean. I love the Trader Joe's vanilla bean paste, however you can scrape whole vanilla beans as well! Enjoy your fresh, homemade nut milk!
